In April 2007 the Clarenville Area Consumers Co-op partnered with the Clarenville Lions Club to establish a 50/50 lotto. The Lotto 50/50 is set up so that 50 percent gets returned to the Member as winnings and 50 percent is given to the Lotto 50/50 committee to distribute to local charities.
Tickets are available for purchase at our grocery store through any of our cashiers, you must be a member to participate in the 50/50 program. There is a limit of 1 ticket per week, per member. Ticket sales start on Sunday and end on Saturday with the draws taking place every Monday. A new charity will be selected each week. Weekly winners and charities can be viewed on the display TV next to our customer service desk.
Since 2015 the Clarenville Co-op/Clarenville Lions 50/50 lotto has given back $1.9M to various charities, including:

In the year 2022 sales were reported at $4,799,975 with half of this going to our 30 Co-op Member 50/50 winners and the other half being distributed amongst the charities. The major sponsorship for that year was the Discovery Healthcare Foundation to purchase a Hematology Slide Stainer to speed up the process of slide staining which ensures accurate identification of white blood cells, red blood cell morphology and platelet assessment.
